38.5 lbs--75% percentile (up from 35lbs, continuing along the same percentile curve)
41.75in--80% percentile (up from 39 in--staying about 2lb and 2in behind L at the same age)
He is basically a square! After a bit of a false start on the hearing test, he flew through the eye chart (asking for the letters, not the "baby picture one," the blood pressure, and the physical. The doc even commented on what a happy guy he is. That is until the fateful time for the shots. He had to get 4 today plus the FluMist so he was pretty sad afterwards. But IronMan and Spiderman Bandaids helped as well as a Mom-guilt fueled trip to our favorite bakery for a free cookie. Hey, don't judge me!
On his real birthday, Henry went to school and had a great day. The principal singled him out during the morning meeting and said Happy Birthday to him. Then Pippa James and I came to school and I was the mystery reader. Next cupcakes for the class at lunch time--whew! After Henry's birthday dinner choice (homemade pizza) and birthday cake (red velvet with a bat symbol on top), then it was present time!!
Bat-cake!
In case, you don't know Henry, he is....Batman!
Swampy and Cranky from "Where's My Water?"--another favorite
We spent Easter in Nashville with the Fitts/Barriger crew and the Easter Bunny brought the kids lots of fun stuff, even far away from home. Squinkies, super heros and books and puzzles were the favorites--as well as Henry's cool bike bell from Gigi.
A bell for my bike?...Hooray!
And yes Henry took a header into a tree--but the tree is ok.
Well, we have gotten a little Star Wars crazy around our house, including the boys picking out all Star Wars themed decorations and presents for Daddy's birthday last Friday. Luke knows all the characters (thanks to his classmates) and Henry is slowly picking them up. (It is all Greek to me--just when I was catching on to the super heros, now we are introducing Star Wars too?!?) However, despite many corrections, Henry seems intent on creating a softer image for the fiercest bounty hunter in the galaxy, Boba Fett. I introduce you to Bobo Fett.
and Henry's going to be singing. On Tuesday Henry's 3 year old preschool class sang during their weekly chapel service. Below are a couple of videos for your viewing pleasure. The first is the song they all sing at the start of chapel, the second was 1 of 2 songs that Henry's class sang to the rest of the preschool. Now in the second video, the girl in front of Henry is not only a year older than Henry, but comes from theater people stock, hence her perfect smile and pitch (and a solo performance.)
On 2/18 Henry's class had their "Date with Dad" where he got to show Daddy all around his room. They read books, played with playdoh, decorated a picture frame, played in the sensory table, and much more. The kids also learned a special song just for the dads. Awwwww....
Now despite the fact that it looks like he hardly sang in the video, he had been singing that song for a month every day before the big day. I kept having to clap my hand over his mouth to keep the words a surprise for Daddy. Then he freezes up for the big show! I dont see Broadway in our future....
